Chapter 8 (PV8) is a social club which consists of a busy, happy group of over 200 families that enjoy camping together because we think camping as a group has many advantages. On the surface PV8 looks to be just another camping club but PV8 offers much more than just camping, we are active throughout the entire year with our annual non-camping events such as our adult and children's Christmas and Halloween parties, Dances and much more...
The Springfield RV, Camping & Outdoor Show held at the Big-E fairgrounds each February is our proudest achievement. The show is produced entirely by PV8 volunteers. Beginning with planning, setup before the show, every job during the show to cleaning up after the show is all done by volunteers! But that doesn't mean we don't compensate our volunteers, they are paid "Chapter Bucks" (that can be used towards upcoming events), are fed meals between shifts, a huge after-show party complete with a catered dinner for PV8 members PLUS all show exhibitors! This is what makes this the best RV Show in New England!
Pioneer Valley Chapter 8 of NAFCA was organized in September, 1960. In 2010 we celebrated our 50th anniversary. Our chapter was formed to further family camping in the Springfield, Massachusetts area and we have enjoyed over 50 years of camping, fun, and good friendships. We are a volunteer organization, wherein members take active roles in the operation of the chapter and its year round activities. Business meetings are held monthly (except July and August) and officers are elected to the Board of Directors annually in March. The dates, times and locations are always listed on the Coming Events page of our monthly newsletter, The Town Crier. PV8 is a very active camping and social organization which focuses on family values and activities.
